Shell Game

As shells on the beach are placed there by the forces that be, this piece is designed to be placed,  presented, and arranged at the discretion of the gallery.

Imbedded in one of these three cast cement forms is a brass (Zildjian) cymbal.

I use this device to invite the viewer to think beneath the surface for the sometimes concealed and illusive truth about environmental disputes and the preservation of our eco-system and ask: What can we control? What can we leave to chance?
